SECURE LOCKING

EASY OPENING
The gearing assembly is mounted inside the door roll to minimise side clearance requirements and with its no maintenance, low friction characteristics, provides low operating effort to open and close very large doors. Features include:

• Doors up to 2400mm high can be operated by hand without the need of chain wheel equipment
• Doors between 2400mm and 3000mm use efficient direct chain drive
• Doors over 3000mm high use efficient, compact, planetary reduction gearing
• Quiet and durable nylon gearing
• Ease of single handed operation
• Gearing components require no lubrication due to materials used in manufacturing
• Balanced loading and withstands very high overload forces without ill effects

Colours
B&D Series 2 Light Industrial Roll-A-Doors are available in an extensive range of standard B&D colours including special Zincalume® coated finishes designed to gain greater impact and identification for the Self Storage complex, or to suit your corporate identity. Zincalume® coated finiish can be polyurethaned on site for even wider colour selection.

MAINTENANCE
No greasing of the door guides is required, and the axle, hubs and all other working components have either been manufactured with self-lubricating materials or greased at the factory. To reduce operational and replacement costs, curtains are easily repaired. In the case of damage, the curtain can be cut and a standard replacement section rivitted in.

OPTIONS

• B&D provide tapered curtains to suit floors with a slope across the opening
• Optional electric and remote operation are available, ask your B&D representative or dealer to recommend a unit to suit

MULLIONS FOR MULTIPLE DOORS
Where a choice of partial or total access to the building is required, a combination of mullions and multiple Roll-A-Door® Series 2 – Light Industrial rolling doors is recommended, rather than one wide door. Motorisation is not recommended with mullions. Features include:

• Mullions can be simply disengaged to provide unrestricted full width access
• Mullions for smaller doors lift out by hand
• Individual low effort operation
• Privacy and weather protection of a small opening

VENTILATED CURTAINS
Where ventilation is required the doors may be perforated to allow light penetration or up to 10% airflow. This offeres you all the security you may need plus airflow.

HIGH WIND AREA
In any area that could be affected by high wind or extreme weather conditions, B&D recommend the fitting of Windlock Guide Systems.

SIZES
All doors are custom made to suit individual openings up to 5100mm high x 5100mm wide.

CURTAIN
Manufactured from 0.4mm gauge, flexible steel curtain pressed to a horizontal ribbed profile, sliding between vertical guides.

OPERATION

BOTTOM RAIL
Aluminium bottom rail with weatherseal provides added protection against dirt, leaves and weather.

OPTIONS
Mullions: Where a choice of partial or total access to the building is required, a combination of mullions and multiple Series 2 light industrial doors is recommended to provide a number of smaller doors, rather than one wide door. Electrical and remote operation are available, ask your B&D representative or dealer to recommend a unit to suit. Wicket gates provide quick and easy access in or out of the premises, without the need to raise the door. The wicket gate opening size is 1780mm high x 600mm wide. this gate is specified when inward opening is required. Wicket gates are fitted with an external key operated night latch lock. When the door is in the open position the cranked bottom rail hangs 65mm below the lintel. Where ventilation is required the doors may be partially or fully perforated to allow light penetration or up to 10% airflow.

LOCKING
Waist high heavy duty locking system. Sliding bolt locking is located internally on the left hand side of the door. Options available on request:
- Chain locking
- Waist high internal slide bolt locking can be located on the right hand side or optional on both sides.

ROLL-A-SHUTTER 4/100

GUIDES
The standard guides provided for nylon clipped Roll-A-Shutters are steel channels cold roll formed from 2.0mm steel, having a minimum depth of 70mm and measuring 36mm across the back. When fixing to masonry, these guides shall be fixed securely to walls at intervals of not more than 750mm by 9.5mm diameter masonry anchors and hex head bolts, or as specified for steel work.

TORQUE TUBE
The torque tube is of 203mm diameter. Tube has a minimum wall thickness of 1.6mm galvanised steel, to withstand a minimum deflection of 1 in 350mm. The torque tube shall be fitted with 30% glass filled polypropylene Homo-polymer plastic drums mounted on a 33.7mm axle having a minimum thickness of 4.0mm. Axle end reinforcement on larger doors as specified.

SPRINGS
Helical torsion type springs made from Hard Drawn 2 spring steel to Australian Standard 1472 designed to fit within the torsion tube and of size selected to balance the weight of the curtain and within acceptable operating stresses.

BRACKETS
Fabricated from 50 x 50 x 6mm mild steel angle and used with double saddles and 100mm steel bolts. Each bracket to be fixed to the wall with no less than 3 of 10mm masonry anchors and hex head bolts or as specified for steelwork.

GEARS
B&D Series 2 Planetary Gearing or 4:1 ratio manual gearbox or electric drive with gearing ratio selected in accordance with shutter size.

LOCKING
All hand operated shutters are supplied as standard with external bottom rail slide bolt locking. All chain operated shutters are supplied as standard with chain cleat locking. There is an option for no locking, internal slide bolts, or internal & external slide bolts. There is also an option for keylocking on aluminium bottom rails up to 4800mm wide.

FINISH
Optional powder coat finish available when specified. Hauling chains shall be zinc passivated.
